Coffee Morning (24th July)
THANK YOU goes out to all the Parents, friends and neighbours who supported us during our recent coffee morning. A special THANK YOU to Alison Richardson for organsing it all and Alison's parents, for hosting the coffee morning at their home.
The 8th Wakefield would would also like to thank all those who donated cakes etc including local buisness's Boulby's, Charlesworths and Horbury Co-op.
The whole event raised a grand total of £87.00.
We will be putting the money raised in to our Building fuilding fund for our new Hut.

Street Fayre
Another THANK YOU goes out to all the Parents, friends and neighbours who supported us during the Horbury Street Fayre. A special THANK YOU to the parents, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders who helped man our activities, without them it wouldn't have been possible.
Although we didn't raise as much as we expected the
total fund raised was a little over £130.00.
We will be putting the money raised in to our Building fund for the new Scout Hut.

Spring Fayre
A huge THANK YOU goes out to all the Parents, friends and neighbours who supported us during the joint Group Spring Fair on Saturaday 8th May and also to all those who placed orders for plants prior to the event. The total fund raised has been split btween the three Scout Groups and our group has receieved £150.00.
Thank you again and we hope you will support us again on future fundraising events.

Our New Cub Pack Opens
Following many years of high waiting list numbers in cubs Friday 30th April saw the opening of our new Cub pack. We have been fortunate that Adults have volunteered to give up there time to enable to release some the high numbers held on our waiting list.
We hope the pack will now grow from strength to strength and wish the leaders all the best over these next few weeks and months.

Other News!!
Kenya Expedition Update
The three Explorers Jessica, Mathew & Robert set off in the early hours of Saturday morning by coach to Heathrow. They arrived safely in Nairobi on Saturday evening and will stay at Hillcrest school before travelling up to their base camp in Rumuruti
They will then start their community work, helping local people and children with work on their school.
We wish them all well and a safe expedition.
Explorers Bag Packing
This Bank Holiday weekend three Explorers Scouts from Pheonix Explorer Unit were bag packing in Horbury Co-op to raise money for their Expedition to Kenya. They Managed to raise a Grand total of £348.06. They wish to Thank all those who supported them....
